Get Your Dorm Room or Apartment Ready For Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Francisco chapter.

Friday, September 22 marked the first day of fall. This is the season for warm drinks, cozy sweaters, and of course, pumpkin spice everything. Fall is by far my favorite season, and one way that I like to prepare myself for it is by decorating my living space! At first I was a bit intimidated to try and decorate due to the price tag, but there are many cheap alternatives that you can use to make your living space a fall-themed wonderland.

The first way that I like to decorate for fall is by using lights! They’re a great way to add a new decorative aspect to your room without adding clutter. There are many places that lights can go, but I like to put them around my bed and desk in order to make those areas feel cozier, since Fall is a very cozy season. They can be found for very cheap at places such as target and dollar tree, and add an overall calming ambience to any space.

Another way that I like to give my room a fall-inspired feeling is by adding candles for a fall scent! One of my favorite places to purchase candles is Bath and Body Works, but you can get fall-themed candles almost anywhere. These just give your room a better scent, while also allowing you to experience fall in your living space!

Lastly, I like to spruce up my desk area by using pumpkin decor! These can be found anywhere, but I like to get mine from either Dollar Tree, or the dollar section at Target. I  like to put these either on my desk, or on my bedside table, and they definitely give the room an overall fall feeling.

Adding decor to my room always cheers me up in the fall because it allows me to think about my favorite season, and for a while I can be distracted from the stress of school.
