Seven Spring Break Trip Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Diego chapter.

With only a month left until spring break, it’s time to start planning. What are you doing? Here are a few fun suggestions for you and your friends to consider.

1. Road trip up the California coast

Road trips are a fun way to bond with friends, and the California Coast has so much to offer. You can stop and stay with friends or family up the coast, split hotel rooms, or even camp on the beach. Possible stops along the way include Los Angeles, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco.

2. CABO

If you’re looking for a good time, Cabo San Lucas has it all. Whether you spend your days at Mango Deck or your nights at Squid Roe, you’re sure to come back with a tan that will fade and memories that will last.

3. Yosemite

Consider a spring break in the wilderness at Yosemite National Park. Though the seven-hour road trip may seem daunting, it will be worth it when you are exploring giant redwood forest trails, hiking up mountains, and enjoying beautiful waterfalls.

4. Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth is a great option whether or not it’s been a snowy season. Renting a cabin with a group of friends and skiing or hiking during the day and sitting by the fire at night will be a much needed break from hectic school life. Mammoth even has college passes for students visiting during spring break.

5. Joshua Tree

If you can get a group of friends who want to camp together, I highly suggest a trip to Joshua Tree. It is an experience like no other, where you can explore the vast desert wilderness by day and sit by a campfire gazing at the stars come nighttime.

6. Visiting Friends Abroad

If you’re lucky enough, spring break is a great time to go visit friends who are traveling abroad and experience the cities they have gotten to know so well.

7. Enjoying sunny San Diego

How often do we actually enjoy the many sights of San Diego? Probably not enough with our busy school schedules. It’s a great time to spend the week lounging at the beach and exploring the place we call home.
