Spring Break WYA?: How to Beat the Mid-Semester Blues

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Salisbury chapter.

Week six of the spring term is approaching and the mid-semester blues are definitely real! Homework assignments and projects are piling up and the number of exams you have to study for in one week start to seem as though your professors are getting together to plot your demise.

It’s almost inevitable that the only thing you have on your mind is Spring Break. It’s so close, yet so far away! As we all strive to make it to the finish line that is sunny beaches and warm weather, I’m sure we can all use a few tips on how to survive college when all you want to do is be out with your friends and not worry about an assignment. Here are three quick tips to make the wait a little less gruesome.

Tip #1:

Make sure all your break activities are in order. Having solid plans is one definite way to keep you motivated and full of anticipation. Call up your friends and tie up the loose ends on your beach vacation or spring break road trip.

Tip #2:

Leading up to break, continue giving your school work everything you’ve got. Trust me, I completely understand no one wants to hear that, however, just as you are thinking of Spring break in the future, all good things must come to an end… and going back to school is at that end… and your GPA is also at that end. So do yourself a favor and set yourself up to have a smooth sailing finish to your semester after your vacation fun has been had.

Tip #3

Keep your routine going!

Whatever it may be, having a set schedule surprisingly makes time go by ten times faster. Keeping yourself as occupied as possible means you will spend more time staying busy and thinking of what needs to be done for the day rather than moping around wishing the days would go by faster.

Spring break will be here before you know it and these few tips will make the never-ending struggle of going to class and trying to stay focused just a little more bearable.
