On Belles Give Back day I’m always amazed about the amazing women who support this amazing school. I’m the person that goes on Twitter and Facebook and looks for all of the stories that past Belles have about their time at SMC.
In the fall, I was lucky enough to spend time with my Aunt Connie who was in town for a Notre Dame game and went to Saint Mary’s when Notre Dame was still an all boys school. We went to dinner and talked for two hours about Saint Mary’s, how we got here, and crazy stories from our times studying abroad in Rome. When I was little and was going to Notre Dame games with my dad, he always told me about the times he spent at Saint Mary’s playing on The Avenue visiting my aunt in college. He always said “The best girls go to Saint Mary’s”. Needless to say, he was definitely right. I love that Saint Mary’s roots run deep. My aunt and I share a bond greater than just being family. I can talk about certain aspects of going to college that others just don’t get because they didn’t go to Saint Mary’s.
While times have changed at Saint Mary’s over the years, one thing still stays the same and that’s the sisterhood. I know that the friends I have made here are going to be my best friends for the rest of my life. When I visited Saint Mary’s for the first time I knew that this was the place for me and I’m so happy I went with my gut. Go Belles!
