One of the best parts of writing for Her Campus is the Survival Kits! Every few months or so, during midterms and finals, the HC National team sends our Chapter a care package full of all the latest and greatest products from all of our favorite brands! I just managed to get the first Survival Kit of the year up to my room (it was so heavy!), and I’m literally writing this as I unbox!
The first thing I noticed while unboxing was tons of HI-CHEW candies, which are real fruit-flavored, chewy candies! They contain no artifical flavors, so our HC team can treat ourselves without also wrecking ourselves.
Next, we have something that I think our own writer, Emily Lenahan, will be pretty excited about: Erin Condren planners! We received several of the famous planner-guru’s hardbound LifePlanners, and they are so cute!
As winter approaches, so does the South Bend permacloud, which means it’ll be months until we see the sun. Luckily, our Survival Kit came with L’Oreal Paris tanning towelettes!
The tanning towelettes weren’t the only beauty product we received- there were also tons of full-size bottles of Bed Head hairspray! Seriously, this is better than Birchbox.
We also received several face masks for those fun girl-nights in! Freeman Beauty sent us three types of masks, so all skin types can enjoy: Charcoal, tea tree, and cucumber.
Another great product we received are Steripod Clips, which clip onto your toothbrush to protect the brush head from germs. Super useful for anyone without a sink or their own bathroom, like me!
Of course, a HC Survival Kit wouldn’t be complete without coupons to our favorite stores! Thanks to HC, our entire team (and maybe all of SMC!) can get a discount at and Spindrift, a fruit-flavored sparkling water company that uses real fruit, not artificial flavors.
