Campus Cutie: Nicole Pador

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.

Name: Nicole Pador

Year: Senior

Major: Biology

Minor: Psychology

Alter Ego (or code name, take your pick): Beyonce Pad Thai (The Mindy Project reference)

Hobbies/Activities: I like paddle-boarding, traveling, and volleyball, but I also like to try out new things. Kickboxing is next on my list! And I also enjoy watching ND hockey.

What’s your favorite part of being a Belle? I love that SMC is about women empowerment. I’ve grown so much confidence since my freshman year (yikes!) and being Belle has helped me see my own potential.

What’s the name of your future autobiography? The Girl With a Thousand Accents. This title hopefully conveys my cultural chameleon quality and my random idiosyncratic way of pronouncing words or phrases in a peculiar accent.

If you were president for a day, what would you do first? I would buy a large caramel iced coffee, cream but no sugar, from Dunkin Donuts, and then get work done.

If you could travel to any country in the world, where would you go and why?  I want to travel to all of them! I studied abroad in Ireland last year and I was able to travel around Europe with some amazing friends. I’m currently planning my next trip to the Philippines, Thailand, and Japan. I want to squeeze New Zealand in there, but plane tickets are expensive!

What’s your favorite quote and why? “Ladies, the world is full of assholes.” This was said by an SMC prof, who shall not be named. But to give you some context, my class was returning to SMC campus after a nature hike across the street. We were standing near the intersection, when behind the professor, a couple students egged on a truck driver to honk their horn. The truck driver happily obliged, which prompted this memorable quote.

If you could solve one small problem in the world, what would it be? Smoking, it’s unhealthy, a waste of money, and overall it’s disgusting.

If you could solve one big problem in the world, what would it be? Hunger.

If you could only read one book (or listen to one song) for the rest of your life, what would it be? Why Not Me or Are My Friends Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) both by Mindy Kaling. When I need some inspiration and laughs, I pick up these books.
