Well, it’s that time of year again. The Avenue’s trees are changing colors, Smicks are trading their shorts and iced coffees for yoga pants and pumpkin spice lattes, midterms are approaching. It’s not only football season- it’s fall, y’all! Here’s some beauty trends to power you through.

1) Primer

Let’s start off easy. If you’re like me, and the fall causes your skin to get super dry, you’re going to want to use a primer under your makeup. This is good for all seasons, but especially the ones (i.e., fall and winter) that cause your skin to need a little bit more hydration. It keeps your skin soft and smooth, and your foundation super even. I love the Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer, which gives you that super dewy look!

2) Flushed Cheeks

I know a lot of Belles that are all about their bronzer, but the new trend this season is trademark: flushed cheeks that look like you just took a walk in the chilly fall breeze. Skip the highlight and contour; you don’t need it with this look. It’s super easy to achieve: just place a matte peach or pink blush lightly on the apples of your cheeks, and go! For a budget-friendly option, NYX carries some cream blushes in just about every color that would be great for this.

3) Bronze Smoky Eyes

At the Emmys a couple weeks ago, Amy Schumer thanked her makeup artist for the smoky eye she had given her and skyrocketed her to fame. The dark brown and gold makeup is great for a night out or if you wanted to go glam with your everyday makeup; just use lighter brown tones. Gold shadow in the corners of your eyes also makes them pop- perfect for those early mornings when you don’t want to put in too much effort.

4) A Dark(er) Lip

For all my vampy Belles out there, this trend is for you. When you want to be adventurous with your makeup, a dark lip will definitely do. This look doesn’t have to be gothy, either. There are plenty of plum and purple lipsticks that fit every skin tone. Apply it just in the middle of your lips and feather out if you want to make this look work for class. Just keep it matte so it doesn’t look like you’re jumping out of the 80s, and you’re good to go. However, if you’re up for an all-black lip, you have that option too. Go for it!

5) Colorblocked Nails

One of the biggest trends on the New York Fashion Week runways were colorblock nails. This look is easy as well- just use Scotch tape to tape off half of your nail, and do corresponding colors on each. This look is also great for a statement nail with a dark color on the other nails as well.
