This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Saint Mary's chapter.

1. Physical self-care: self care that is focused on the physical self.

  • A facemask/spa day
  • A healthier diet
  • An hour at the gym

2. Emotional self-care: allowing for emotional freedom and development, letting yourself feel your emotions for what they are

  • Keeping a journal and reflecting on your mood
  • Spending time with loved ones
  • Rereading your favorite book

3. Psychological self-care: managing your stress levels and assessing your mental wellness.

  • Going to the museum
  • Go to therapy
  • Taking a day off

4. Spiritual self-care: spiritual doesn’t necessarily refer to religion, but getting in touch with your self.

  • Donating to a charity your care about
  • Volunteering
  • Meditating

5. Professional self-care: professional self care can be useful to both those in the workforce and those who are students.

  • Talking with your coworkers/peers
  • Decorating your workspace
  • Taking a break throughout the day
