Christmas break is ending…strings of lights and bounds of holly are returning to the attic, you’ve exchanged and returned all the gifts that didn’t work out, and your siblings have all headed back to school. You’re home alone with your dog, Netflix, and some rainy, January afternoons. It’s too cold to lay out at the beach, the family ski trip is well over, you’ve uploaded all your Facebook photos, and you actually miss spending Sunday afternoons in Hes. Everything reminds you of your Belles and the group text is blowing up.
The signs you’re ready to head back to the bend are pretty clear when…
1) All your hometown friends have already gone back to school so you start talking to your pets…
2) Your brother is annoying you so much that you’ve resorted to intense revenge tactics… #SorryNotSorry #GoBelles
3) Your family suggests yet again another movie night and you’re just like…
Why doesn’t anyone like chick flicks as much as the Belles do?
4) You’ve had more than enough of your fair share of friends and family holiday dinner parties and you’ve mastered the “I don’t really care but I have to pretend like I do” head nod…
5) You start awkwardly jamming out to Blank Space by yourself because no one understands the Taylor obsession quite as deeply as your Belles…
6) Your parents have gone from bragging about you to family members and waiting on your hand and foot to annoying you beyond belief but you know they’re always right so you’re just like…
7) You start imagining nights at Feve ending like this…
when you simply need to be reminded…
8) You start missing your guy friends and imagine the reunion hug…
9) But then you think about the Belle reunion hug…
10) And get much more excited for that one…
11) You’ve spent so much time daydreaming in your living room and start to notice how your siblings are featured much, much more on the walls than you are, thus making you very angry…
12) When you start missing South Bend so much that you even begin to miss those intramural sports you and your Belles attempted…
13) When you realize that tomorrow is the day you fly back to the bend and you bounce around like…
14) But then you start crying on the plane because it really just hit you how much you love and miss your mom…
15) Tears continue to lightly stream down your face until you finally walk up to LeMans like….
because no matter how many times you leave and come back again…
it’s always just so pretty.
