Top Seven Songs for Your Weekly Moods

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacred Heart chapter.

Music has a major impact on our day to day lives, and for me there is no better way to categorize a day than by describing through various songs. Here are seven different songs that may describe the type of day you may be experiencing!

Sunday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2Cti12XBw4

Scary Sunday’s hit most college students sooner or later. That moment you realize homework, quizzes, and exams are looming in the background of your day lingering to be completed within the week. “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5 is a classic throwback that fits the exact mood one may feel on a Sunday, wanting to relax, hang out, and take in the day without feeling the burden of your week’s workload sneaking up on you.

Monday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4

Monday morning’s are definitely nobody’s best friend. Waking up knowing you have to complete X,Y, & Z and do it all in a timely manner can be stressful for anyone! That’s why I think, “The Sound of Silence” by Disturbed fits perfect for your Monday Blues. The line “Hello darkness my old friend” describes how any person may feel about Monday mornings, especially when you first here the sound of your alarm early in the morning!

Tuesday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvjpE_wFL5A

Your week is beginning to move a little, but the days seem to be dragging on. “Im so tired…” by Lauv & Troye Sivan fits how someone may feel on a Tuesday perfectly. You’re still tired from the weekend, but you keep pushing through!

Wednesday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3mJkSqZbX4

Happy hump day! You made it halfway through the week! Why don’t you just meet me in the middle, one of the most popular lyrics from the song “Middle” by Zedd, Grey, and Maren Morris is exactly how someone would feel midway through their week. They are halfway there, the weekend is near, and you’re just asking everyone if they are losing their minds too. (But don’t worry you are halfway to the end of the week now!) Why don’t you just meet me in the middle

Thursday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b87dBaL4qI0

A throwback Ariana Grande song is fitting for nearly any situation, but Thursday’s anthem would be “Almost is Never Enough”. You are almost done with your week, the end is near, but as the song says, almost is never enough. Don’t worry though, the hardest part of your week is over and there is just one more day until the weekend!

Friday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1xs_xPb46M

Another classic throwback from our favorite boy band that we all wish would join back together is the best song to describe your Friday. You finished the week strong, made it to the end, now you want to be, “Up All Night,” just like One Direction. This song will pump you up no matter what mood you may be in, and is bound to get you off your feet moving.

Saturday- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTXJQ5ql5Fw

Our last song to describe your weekday mood is another classic, “Time of Our Lives,” By Pitbull and Ne-yo. You had the whole day to do anything you wanted. No obligations like class or meetings, you could choose if you stayed in bed and watched Netflix all day or hung out with friends. Either way be sure that you are having the time of your life!

And there you have it! Seven songs that may describe what mood you are feeling on a day to day basis, whether it be a pump up or chill, each song represents the overall feeling of each day.
