Another year, another recruitment weekend. Long days spent wearing high heels and conversing with unfamiliar faces are ahead, but we can’t complain. We all love recruitment weekend– even if it means a few sleepless nights. Here are ten thoughts that most DEFINITELY run through every sorority girl’s mind during recruitment:
1. Okay line up everyone! I have to pick up two girls? Great, I can barely hold a conversation with one. And we’re smiling, and we’re clapping. I feel like an energizer bunny on crack.
2. “Hi! What’s your name?” (Mumbles) Crap she’s covering her nametag. “I’m sorry what is it?” Okay, could it get any louder in here? (Mumbles) “I’m sorry one more time?”
3. Yay I love awkward girls! What do I say to her? Umm “So how do you like the food on campus?” YES, it makes me go to the bathroom too! Great now we’re bonding over bowel movements.
4. Where is this girl to bump me?? Oh, there she is. “This is Kim,” I say to my sorority sister. Why is Kim giving me a weird look? Oh, because her name is actually Kayla. Classic.
5. I’m sweating. My feet hurt. Does my breath smell? My hair looks ratchet. I can’t believe it has only been one round.
6. Next girl, here we go. Ooo she’s cute. We both love the Merritt Canteen! Oh my god. I want her. If I could take a little this year it would be her. Should I? No, I’ll just make my little take her. Eww but I don’t want to be a grand big.
7. Wait but I don’t want to bump… I have to make sure she comes back tomorrow. She is most definitely my rush crush .
