My Top 6 Favorite Fall Coded Albums

If you’ve been keeping up with my articles, I am a very list oriented girl. Honestly, it is the best way that I stay organized. So in typical fashion, I have another great list for you. One of my favorite topics to talk about is music. I’m sure everyone else can agree that music is everywhere. Music helps to shape pop-culture and a mass reason for why fandoms of these artists are so huge. Before the days of social media, the majority of artists needed radio, television promotion and physical media releases to even get recognized. Now, music can be shared through all digital platforms and artists utilize this tool to get their name out there. Below, I have listed some of my favorite artists and albums that I think are perfect for this fall.

  1. Red by Taylor Swift (OG and Taylor’s Version) (2012 & 2021)

Of course I had to start with my favorite artist of all time, Taylor Swift. Originally released in 2012, Red was a breakout fourth album release. Becoming almost a “patchwork quilt” of songs, Taylor mixes country, pop-country, and pop-rock. In my personal opinion, it has such a variety of songs that span all three of those genres. Additionally, with its “Taylor’s Version” re-release in November of 2021, Red was rebranded (officially) to be a fall album. With iconic autumn visuals and doing what Taylor does best, releasing the best vault tracks. From songs like “Better Man”, and “All too Well (10 Minute version)” these additional tracks reign supreme. Every time September rolls around, I always find myself coming back to this album. The mix of nostalgia and just pure lyricism is honestly unmatched. The best way to describe Red is that it’s a true rollercoaster of emotions that will always keep you wanting more.

2. The Fray by The Fray (2009)

My favorite band of the early 2000s! This album specifically has so many favorites of mine, from “Never Say Never” to “Say When”, you’re bound to recognize any of these tracks. Although a short album, “The Fray” gives the listener a full experience into that alternative pop and edge that you don’t see a lot of today. Also if you don’t think you know The Fray, their songs have been key features in iconic TV moments such as One Tree Hill and The Vampire Diaries. So the next time you watch any of your favorite shows from the early aughts, pay attention and you’ll catch those needle drops.

3. …Baby One More Time by Britney Spears  (1999)

I’ll always find myself coming back to Britney Spears, and let me tell you I am in my Britney era! …Baby One More Time as a debut album alone is not only impressive, but having such a long lasting impact on the industry that many still remember these songs today. Although I wasn’t born yet for its original release, …Baby One More Time features songs that bring me back to the very beginning of when school would start. Maybe that was because of the association to the leading music video (school girl Britney!), but this album holds a lot of what young girls can relate to. Other songs that have very fall vibes are “From the Bottom of my Broken Heart” and “Autumn Goodbye”. It’s also just such a fun album and I am giving no further explanation!

     4. Rumors by Fleetwood Mac (1977)

How can I mention the word fall without having Fleetwood Mac? It’s not possible. Many fans say that Rumors by Fleetwood Mac is arguably their best album, and I fully agree. This album gives that October vibe, with those feelings of tension and secrets. Mostly because of what was going on behind the scenes of making the album (such a crazy story), there’s a total witchy and ethereal vibe to Rumors. Definitely the oldest album on this list, it is certainly timeless. You can ask anyone about Fleetwood Mac and 9 times out of 10 they’ll mention Rumors or a song from the album.

5. The Great Divide by Noah Kahan (2026)

The newest album on this list, and of course it’s Noah Kahan. Noah Kahan’s newest album captures those unexplainable feelings of upbeat sadness, anger and so many more. His ability to draw the listener in from the very first note is something that you don’t see in every artist. The genre of this album is folk and folk-pop, but is also genuinely entertaining. Constant themes of small town life, loneliness, returning to what once was. I honestly think The Great Divide is a perfect album from start to finish and no one can tell me otherwise.

    6. The Silence Between Songs by Madison Beer (2023)

My underrated girl! I’ve seen Madison Beer in concert twice now, and she’s one of the best singers I have ever heard live. Madison is most known for her hit pop singles like “Good in Goodbye” and “Make You Mine”, but her sophomore album The Silence Between Songs showcases such a different sound then her previous work. The use of less popular instruments and the way that she layers her vocals on this album sound like something out of this world. Not to mention the visuals for this album are also stunning. My favorite tracks are “At Your Worst”, “Reckless” and “King of Everything”. These three songs in particular are (in my opinion) some of her best work that she has ever released, and definitely deserves a listen!

      Here are some honorable mentions;

      • The Secret of Us by Gracie Abrams
      • Made in The A.M. by One Direction
      • Chariot by Gavin Degraw (2003)
      • How to Save a Life by The Fray
      • Nobody is Listening by ZAYN

      Happy Listening!
