Since Selena Gomez is currently resting on her throne while in the process of taking over the world one hit song after the next, I thought it would be the perfect time to rank my 5 all time favorite fashion moments from her. This list does not include looks from music videos, (otherwise I would have to include every look from the Back to You video, because their amazing!) but it does feature some of her best street style, red carpet, and interview outfits throughout the years.

#5: Stripped Interview Look

The first outfit on my list is actually a more recent dress Selena wore to a radio interview after debuting her two new songs to the public. This dress is so gorgeous and the soft draping of the knit fabric makes Selena look long and lean, especially with her long hair styled in loose waves hanging over front of her shoulders. Although the dress is long sleeved, and pretty modest in most areas, the deep v-neck in the front and high middle slit (closed the rest of the way with great accent buttons!) opens up her frame and allows some skin to come through. Love it!

#4: Pink Red Carpet Look

The next look on my list is a red carpet dress worn by Selena sometime last year. This dress is a mod style 60’s inspired dress in a youthful bubblegum pink. Selena wore her hair in the perfect style to emulate the time period of this popular silhouette, pinned up resembling a beehive hairdo while thick side bangs are fallen over her face. She added a green clutch and red heels for some must have color-blocking. The high neckline and long sleeves are very much in balance with the short hem and made for the best retro throwback on the carpet!

#3: Yellow and Green Street Look

My third outfit to make the list is a more recent street style ensemble that Selena was seen wearing around L.A. Selena is known for her comfy and chic street style, but she usually does it in a more neutral color palette. This is what made it so exciting to see her step out in a very bold, color-blocking outfit on the street. The look starts with neon green biker shorts (detailed with a ruffled hem), topped with a yellow hoodie, and layered with a black leather jacket. The whole thing was completed with black creeper shoes and a navy scrunchie for even more color-blocking! I love this look because biker shorts and a sweatshirt is one of my favorites for a casual look, but Selena managed to take it to the next level and step outside of her comfort zone with some pretty loud colors and adding a more edgy jacket to give the look dimension.

#2: 13 Reasons Why Premiere Look

The look that comes in second place on my list is Selena’s red carpet outfit for the premiere of 13 Reasons Why. This look is one of my all time favorites from Selena and came very close to being ranked as the number one. I love a good monochrome look, and although it is a very fast growing trend right now, it wasn’t nearly as popular when Selena wore it to this premiere a few years ago. This just shows her influence in trends and her stylists outlook on fashion. The look was a hit, and she looked stunning! The outfit was detailed with an orange fit and flare strapless dress, matched with ombre orange earrings and a clean slick back hairstyle. She also had orange eye shadow and a corresponding peach lip.

#1: Met Gala Look 2017

Now call me obsessive, but ever since Selena came to the Met Gala in 2017 I knew this would forever be my all time favorite look from her! I love every detail from her outfit that night. We can start with the white slip dress she wore, detailed with lace trimming and colored sequin appliques. The dress had a balanced low neckline and a middle set slit. Her handbag mimicked the details in the dress with additional appliques on the front. Selena wore a thick chain choker in a deep purple, along with a few statement rings to keep the look clean and simple. Her hair was at bob length and was styled in a pin straight middle part, with her ends slightly curved inward. The makeup she wore truly finished off the whole look, with a clean face, bold brows, and hot pink eye shadow on her lids. I am in love with this fashion moment from her and will always be in awe of her beauty and style!
