Growing up, I’ve always had a passion for writing. Whether it be writing about personal experiences, letters to loved ones, inspirational quotes, or even assigned essays… putting my thoughts into writing has always been therapeutic to me. I first heard about Sacred Heart’s Her Campus Chapter the summer after my sophomore year, and was instantly drawn to it. I remember reading about the club on Sacred Heart’s website and immediately emailing Nina, our chapter’s president at the time, asking when the first meeting was and if I could start writing articles before the school year began. I officially joined Her Campus that fall, my junior year, and could not be happier with my decision. This chapter introduced me to some of the most genuine people I’ve met in college, and I am so grateful for that. All of the women are so welcoming and constantly empowering you to become the best version of yourself.
Our current president, Jackie, is the ultimate hype-woman; sending us positive messages nearly every day and continuously finding ways for our chapter to grow. There’s always something to look forward to in this club, and the opportunities to thrive are endless. I thank Her Campus for giving me a creative outlet where I can put my thoughts into writing, while being surrounded by such uplifting women.
I truly could not imagine what my college experience would be like today if I had not joined this organization. I feel inspired and empowered every single day through the endless support, words of encouragement and opportunities this chapter has provided me with.
