Growing up, I was really blessed to have good skin. I never suffered from acne, just the occasional blemish; however, college changed that for me. My skin began to change my freshman year and it was so frustrating! I would have frequent breakouts and could never seem to balance out the oiliness and dryness of my skin. It took me a while to find products that really work for me.

Recently, I came across a brand called Mad Hippie through different skincare quizzes on Ulta’s website. I was instantly intrigued and excited to give it a try. Mad Hippie is an organic, eco-friendly brand and their products are free from: cruelty, parabens, petrochemicals, animal ingredients, GMOs, phthalates, SLS, synthetic dye, perfume, PEGs and silicone. In short, their products are all natural.

I have been using several of Mad Hippie’s products in the past few months and have seen a big difference in my skin. I plan to test more of their products in the future, but for now, here are three of Mad Hippie’s products that I have been obsessed with:

  1. Vitamin C Serum

At the time that Ulta recommended this brand to me, I was in the market for a new face serum. Their vitamin C serum had great reviews and so I decided to give it a try. This product has been a lifesaver and has made a huge difference in my skin. The Vitamin C serum is anti-aging (you have to start fighting those wrinkles early!), and is meant to “tighten, brighten, and smooth your skin”. While I may not be suffering from wrinkles at 21, I was suffering from dull, discolored, and uneven skin texture. Within my first use of this product I noticed how instantly soft my skin felt and it lasted through until the morning. After about a week of using this product, I began to notice the discoloration in my cheeks start to subside. I personally feel my skin looks so much healthier since using this product, and it certainly feels much better. My breakouts have been much less frequent as well. Upon first purchasing this product I was using it both day and night, but this has become just a morning staple product for me.

  1. Exfoliating Serum

I never realized how important it was to exfoliate and it was not a part of my skin routine until recently. My skin was always dry and flaky but using different exfoliating products has helped to turn that around for me. I have been using Mad Hippie’s exfoliating serum every night before bed. This serum is an overnight peel intended to shed dull and discolored skin. I have really loved using this product with the vitamin C serum because my skin feels and looks so much better. The exfoliating serum has eliminated any dry patches that I once had and always leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

  1. Eye cream

Prior to using this product, I was harsh on my eyes. I never really took care of the skin surrounding my eyes. I was roughly scrubbing makeup off every night and my eyes always had a purple undertone to them due to lack of sleep. I was never insecure of my eye discoloration, I would cover it up with concealer, but one day I was scrolling through Ulta’s website (as I often do) and found their eye cream.  I honestly didn’t know what an eye cream was until I started doing my research. Essentially it is a gentle and hydrating moisturizer used around the eye area because the area around the eyes tend to start aging the earliest. Like I mentioned, I am really into skin care and want to prevent signs of aging for as long as possible – so I decided to order this product. The area surrounding my eyes never felt dry but they were often sore from makeup removal and they were certainly discolored and puffy. Since using this product I feel like my eye discoloration and puffiness has diminished significantly. The cream is also soothing which I like as well.

Skin care is so important, and so is finding the right products. I love this brand for their natural ingredients (and their super cute packaging). They have products geared to help people with all different skin types! It took me years to find products that really work for me so I would recommend checking out Mad Hippie to anyone who is struggling with their skin.
