At this point in the trend it’s very clear that hair accessories have made a HUGE comeback and they’re not going anywhere soon. It’s practically impossible to open the Instagram app without seeing someone rocking hair clips or headbands in the cutest way possible.

When I got wind of this trend, I was excited to purchase my own hair clips get right to styling them. Easy right? Not exactly… I found myself struggling with how to wear them and not, for lack of better words, look like a toddler! In order to make my best attempt at this trend I took to Instagram to find the chicest ways influencers were rocking them and came up with four simple rules to style by.

1. Stack it up:

Opting for two or three clips on the side of your head gives an instant and easy slicked back look. This simple trick is an easy way to make your look more bossy and less baby.

2.  Perfect your bun game

There are few things I love more than a simple and elegant low bun. Adding a simple but fun clip to this timeless style is a great way to elevate the look!

3. A little party in the back is always a good idea

Throw your hair into a quick half up half down look and seal it with a clip! This is a perfect every day look that is effortlessly cool and personally one of my favorites!

4. When all else fails, grab a headband!

If you’re like me and you can’t get that clip placement down and nothing feels right, skip right to this simple but chic trend. An overstated headband is a sure fire way to make a bold statement with minimal effort.
