5 Songs to Blast with Your Windows Down

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacred Heart chapter.

It’s finally starting to feel like Spring, and ever since getting my first car last September, I’ve been dreaming of blasting good music, accompanied by good friends, and opening my windows and sunroof.

Now that it’s finally feeling like summer, here are 5 songs I recommend playing with your windows down.

1. “Free Spirit” Khalid

This song just came out last week, but is already one of my favorites. The laid back melody along with Khalid’s impeccable tone makes it perfect for a chill ride around town. (To be honest, this whole album is amazing, 10/10)

2. “My Life” Billy Joel

A complete classic, but still a great tune. The lyrics of this tune make you feel unstoppable and are perfect for driving around, windows down with your best friends.

 3. “If There Was No You” Brandi Carlile

This one is definitely for those slower sunset drives, but the beautiful acoustics and lyrics of this song, are sure to get you in your feels. Play this while driving by the beach on a summer night, or just driving on the Merit at sunset.

4. “All to Myself” Dan & Shay

This is for all you country fans! This song is so well-written and a great tune for enjoying this beautiful weather.  (also makes me low-key wish I wasn’t single, but ya know)

5. “Chasing Parties” by Sasha Sloan

This song was shown to be my a friend, and I’ve been obsessed ever since! The smooth/ relaxed beat and vibe is perfect for those spring morning drives.

What’re you waiting for? Get in your car, roll down the windows, and play these songs!

Remember to enjoy every minute of this beautiful weather. At least in the Northeast, days like this are short-lived and before we know it, we’ll be back inside bundled up longing for days we could just roll the windows down.
