All Time Low Celebrates 10 Years of Iconic Album ‘Nothing Personal’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sacramento chapter.

Picture this: It’s 2009, you’re laying in your room listening to pandora, and then suddenly, “Lost in Stereo” by All Time Low comes on. It’s a total jam, and suddenly you’re hooked on this band called All Time Low.

Based in Baltimore, Maryland, All Time Low was formed back in 2003 and started out as a high school cover band. By the time co-founders Alex Gaskarth (singer) and Jack Barakat (guitar) found bassist Zack Merrick and drummer Rian Dawson, they found their energetic pop-punk sound and started making their own music.

Back when I was in elementary school, my older sister showed me this song called “Dear Maria, Count Me In” and I listened to it so much that I knew the lyrics frontwards and backward. The song introduced me not only to a band but a whole world of music I didn’t know I loved.

If this song isn’t ringing a bell, the “*cough* *cough*” at the beginning of this iconic song is sure to jog your memory.

Now, it’s the summer of 2009. The All Time Low’s third studio album “Nothing Personal” releases, and there’s not a single skippable song on it.  My personal favorites on the album are “Lost in Stereo,” “Weightless” and “Hello, Brooklyn.”

“Nothing Personal” to this day remains to be one of the most iconic and stand-out albums in the scene of pop-punk music.

Every now and then, I’ll hear songs from the album come up in my playlists and I’ll think to myself, “I wonder what this album would sound like live, if they ever decided to play these songs again?”

And then, it happened.

All Time Low dropped this bomb on us, and I can’t say I didn’t cry. The band has re-recorded one of their most iconic albums and dubbed it “It’s Still Nothing Personal: A Ten Year Tribute.” This album is set to release on November 8th.

Not only that, but they will be going on a 3 city tour, playing the album in its entirety.

Tickets for this very special and small tour will go on sale on September 27th at 10 a.m. local time. If you wish to attend one of these dates, act fast because tickets will go fast.

If you don’t get tickets, there’s still an amazing album to look forward to! So get ready to sit back, relax and bask in the nostalgia this November.

You can preorder the album on their website.
