Summer is right around the corner, and these five trends can help you figure out what to wear. This year’s summer fashion trends have been inspired by past decades, like the 50’s, 60’s, 80’s, and 90’s. These trends show that some pieces never go out of style.

The first fashion trend this summer is wearing oversized blazers or shoulder pad jackets. This 80’s inspired trend, can be worn with shorts, jeans, skirts, and anything you can think of. Since this trend is so versatile, it is an essential piece of clothing to have in your closet. You can find this fashion piece almost everywhere. Colors that suit this trend are charcoal, pastels and neutrals. If you want to rock this oversized jacket look this summer, I would suggest looking at H&M, Express, Target, Missguided, ASOS, and Princess Polly.

The second fashion trend this summer is wearing a sleek black face mask. Since black face masks are able to be paired with any outfit, there is no need to stress over your face mask not matching your fit. Not only is this trend fashionable, it is easily accessible and budget-friendly. You can find reusable black face masks at Target, Amazon, Old Navy, and Princess Polly.

The third fashion trend this summer is wearing head scarfs. This 50’s and 60’s inspired trend is going viral on Tik-Tok and Instagram. Many social media influencers are incorporating head scarfs into their outfits. Head scarfs not only protect your hair, but they can add a little spice to your fit. You can wrap the scarf under your chin or have it hanging off the back of your head. You can purchase these head scarfs at Princess Polly, Lulus, Boohoo, Madewell, and Pretty Little Thing.

The fourth fashion trend this summer is incorporating pastel colors into your closet. These sorbet-inspired colors are perfect for summer and bring out your summer glow. These pastel colors are happy colors and can easily be styled with other colors or prints. Not only are pastels timeless, they are perfect for navigating between seasons. You can find pastel pieces at Pacsun, Nasty Gal, Princess Polly, Boohoo, Missguided, and ASOS.

The fifth fashion trend this summer is supper strappy silhouettes. Straps that twist around your waist are a perfect detail to revamp classic looks. Not only is this strappy style on breathable tops for the summer, it is also on trending bathing suits. You can find clothing pieces with this strappy detail at Lulus, Revolve, Princess Polly, Zara, H&M, and Pacsun.
