Why Are the Kardashians Still a Thing?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rutgers chapter.

Look, I appreciate the contributions that the Kardashian family has brought to society and by that I mean contouring, baking, and opening up the standards of beauty a little more (you don’t need blond hair and blue eyes to be considered attractive anymore! BUT there are definitely still issues with body image of course, but that is a different article).

But now it’s been about 10 years, and while I’ve enjoyed seeing the transition of everyone throughout, I think it’s time to let them retire from mainstream media.

Something is a little suspicious about how Kim, Kylie, and Khloe are all (supposedly except in Kim’s surrogate case) pregnant just in time for the tenth year of their reign. And by a little suspicious, I mean a LOT. Kudos to Kris though, she is definitely a businesswoman and an amazing one at that.

They are definitely an interesting bunch, but there’s no reason for the media to report daily about a stroll in the park. Unless Kim is trying to promote something, I don’t need the magazines telling me their assumptions about how someone was riding a bike.

Don’t get me wrong, I definitely enjoy the occasional comment they make just as I do when I hear someone like Jennifer Aniston. This is more beef with the media than with the Kardashians, but I think it’s time we tone this down a lil.
