Like a lot of upperclassmen, I have no meal plan this semester. I knew that this would bring about some changes in my daily routine, but I didn’t realize how many meals I would eat alone – almost all of them! Meals can be a great time to socalize, reconnect with friends, and simply enjoy each other’s company. In the spirit of making mealtime social again, my roommate and I threw our very own pancake party! The idea was to make a ton of different pancakes all with different mix-ins and toppings. To turn the gathering into a potluck we asked everyone to bring something they would like in their pancakes. Take a look at our pictures from the night!

Phase 1: Ingredients! We had a giant box of Bisquick that we put to good use this night. Due to dietary restrictions we had the difficult talk of finding a milk that was both dairy and nut free, but rice milk saved the day. We also ended up with nearly a dozen bananas.

Phase 2: Start making pancakes! We had some failed attempts, followed by some pancake masterpieces thanks to the help of a nonstick pan. My favorites of the night were a tasty banana brown sugar combo and banana chocolate chip.

We struggled with some panckes, while others were perfect masterpieces:

Phase 3: Eat pancakes and laugh with your friends :)
