Fall is here and so are the fall-themed foods, traditional or not.

Here are the best places to get your fix around Rutgers!

1. Hidden Grounds

Hidden Grounds makes a delicious homemade chai tea, perfect to sip on as the weather gets chilly. They also just released their new fall/winter menu including pumpkin chai spice explosion, a fresh mint chai, a tumeric latte, and a hot cinnamon spice tea! Definitely a place to scope out for your next caffeine fix.

2. Fritz’s

Besides the amazing bars and their classic salted caramel blondie, one of the specials (varies) is a pumpkin streusel cheesecake bar! They also have new scones flavored as sugared apple, apricot pistachio, roasted tomato and feta, and as well as, of course, pumpkin! Besides their amazing desserts, they also have great drinks to try while there.

3. Thomas Sweet

Thomas Sweet is a little haven, two little stores, one full of ice cream, and a gift shop of chocolate and other amazing treats. Try the apple pie ice cream in a cone or a scoop or two (or three) of pumpkin ice cream. If you’re feeling special, try one of their candy-covered apples! After all, it is the season for apples!

4. At Your Step

So there is this glorious machine inside this little convenience store at the Yard, a little neglected because of the location, but this is a hidden golden pot of treasure that you must discover. This little ingenious machine helps you enjoy milkshakes in less than a minute. You choose a flavor of the milkshake that you would like from a variety including pumpkin cheesecake, and it comes in a cup. You take off the seal and place it into the machine. Then you choose the thickness of the milkshake, and then the magic happens. The machine takes away the cup and returns a fresh milkshake. 10/10 recommend.

5. 16 Handles

Besides the classic froyo flavors such as birthday cake, cookies and cream, and nutella, 16 Handles has a new seasonal flavor out for the fall. Pumpkin pie is here! I suggest some pumpkin pie froyo with some vanilla bean froyo and some cheesecake topping with whipped cream. Treat yo’self.
