You’re looking for a new furry friend in your life. Should you shop or adopt? Here I will give you a few good reasons on why you should adopt!

1. There are so many animals in shelters. So many need homes, and sadly, some places can’t take care of all of them, and the final option is putting them down. Not only would you help ease the numbers at shelters, but you’d also essentially be saving a life!

2. Less hassle. Many animals at shelters tend to be older, so there’s no need to potty train, and their energy is not too much to handle. They also tend to already have their shots and other health necessities already taken care of.

3. So much variety! Sometimes people have a specific pet in mind when they begin the search. There are so many animals in the shelters that it’s very likely that you’d be able to find something similar to what you had in mind. Many of the animals are older, but there are still baby animals too if you wanted one.

4. So much love. Most of these animals are just very happy to be with another person that loves them, so they love you back just as much!

If you can’t take care of an animal long-term, there is such thing as foster dogs (and maybe other animals, but you’d have to research).

If you really want to buy a specific pet, just make sure that you’re doing your research and buying from a reliable source and not a puppy mill or any of the sort.

Have fun with your new friend!!
