Coming into Rutgers is an exciting time between meeting new people, exploring campus, enjoying new freedoms, etc. There are a lot of freebies that universities offer to students, like discounts, but some are even better that you might not be aware of. Keep on reading to find out about all the Rutgers exclusive deals and freebies!

Microsoft Office

Rutgers offers certain Microsoft products for free to students. You are eligible to download Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, and Access. You can download it on up to five computers, five tablets, and five phones. In order to receive the programs, go to the website getoffice.rutgers.edu and login with your Rutgers e-mail and password.

HBO GO

If you’ve always wanted to binge Game of Thrones or watch Euphoria now is your opportunity. You can access HBO GO for free when you are on campus. To access this perk, click sign-in and scroll down to ‘All Providers’ and scroll until you see Rutgers University. It will then prompt you to sign in to your Net ID account and you’re set!

Amazon Prime

Okay, it’s not totally free, but you can get Prime free for 6 months. It’s a pretty sweet deal because you also have access to Amazon Video and free two-day shipping. In order to get it, Google, “Amazon Prime Student.” Click the first link and click “start 6-month trial” and sign in to your Amazon account or create an account.

The Wall Street Journal

You can even stay up to date and get your daily news through a free subscription to The Wall Street Journal. Go to this link – https://www.libraries.rutgers.edu/indexes/wsj-current and click “Connect” where you will be redirected to the website to complete registration where it will ask you for your Net ID and password.

There are a plethora of programs for Rutgers students when they come onto campus, many restaurants and local supermarkets offer discounts to Rutgers students. You just have to look and ask! Now, students will be prepared academically and entertainment-wise.
