Skincare is the most important part of a beauty routine, in my opinion. Proper skincare can prevent breakouts and signs of aging like wrinkles. Even when you’re still young, your skin is exposed to harsh environmental elements like the sun, wind and irritants. This is why it’s important to keep your skin clean and hydrated. Personally, I think using cleansers, masks, and facial treatments is fun and relaxing. It can even be made into an activity to do with your friends or significant other to wind down. Everyone likes to be pampered sometimes. Skincare is a part of my self-care and helps me feel less stressed. I’ve tried a lot of skincare products in the past few years, so here are a few of my favorites.

1. Garnier Micellar Cleanser Water

This is the best makeup remover I have ever used. It’s gentle and great for all skin types. Use it on a cotton pad to remove even that waterproof eyeliner and mascara that doesn’t budge. This micellar water can also be used for everyday facial cleansing after long days when you’re too lazy to wash with regular cleanser and water. I’ve also used this with a spoolie to clean false eyelashes and eyelash extensions.

2. The Ordinary Salicylic Acid

I love The Ordinary because their products are extremely affordable and also cruelty-free. This serum keeps my skin seriously clear. Salicylic acid is good for acne-prone skin and prevents breakouts. I use it nightly after cleansing and before moisturizing. It can also be used as a spot treatment for pimples and magically makes them disappear overnight.

3. Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin

This is the moisturizer I use both day and night. I have sensitive skin that turns red at any irritation, so I like this gentle formula. I also like that it’s lightweight yet super moisturizing. It’s hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) and also oil free.

4. AmorePacific Treatment Enzyme Peel Cleansing Powder

I’ve never used any product like this one. It’s a powder to foam cleanser that also has exfoliating properties. The bottle has this super cool way of dispensing the perfect amount each time you pour it into your palm. Just lather it onto a wet face until all of it turns to foam. After rinsing, I promise you will be amazed. No other product has made my skin feel so soft. It gets rid of any rough texture and makes the skin GLOW.

5. Philosophy Microdelivery Resurfacing Peel

This is a two-step treatment that brings results similar to medical microdermabrasion, but in only THREE MINUTES. First, you apply the crystals to your face like a face mask, then you rub in the activation gel and leave it on for 2-3 minutes. The lactic and salicylic acid help with exfoliation, and the vitamin C helps with acne scars and discoloration. Overall, I like this treatment for its brightening and smoothing effects.
