When Hockey Season Returns (as told by gifs)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rowan chapter.

The NHL began yet another season of hockey this past week, and for fans of the game this means a whole new lifestyle for the months to come. In honor of the NHL’s 98th (soon to be 99th on November 26th) year of existence, here are signs that hockey season has returned!

1. The hockey sweaters once again become an essential piece of your wardrobe.

2. You find your schedule revolving around puck drop.

3. Your social media posts go from the occasional update and meme to game recaps.

4. Trying to find tickets to games that won’t make you financially unstable gives new meaning to budgeting.

5. You’re reminded as to why you’ve disliked a specific player for so long.

6. You begin practicing your dance moves in case you’ve been chosen by the almighty jumbotron gods to appear before the crowd.

7. The most used app on your phone goes from Snapchat to your fantasy hockey app.

8. You begin composing a list of comebacks and insults in the event a rival team’s fan attempts to challenge you and your fandom.

9. You start playing a lot more hockey yourself, even if it’s just on your xbox.

10. Most importantly, you’re finally reunited with your team a.k.a. your hockey family.

I am a Writing Arts major at Rowan University. Poetry is my best friend. One day, I hope to be a successful writer for a popular magazine in NYC. My dream is to travel to Paris, London, and Rome to explore and write about my experiences there.
