I’ve been working on my bucket list for years now. I’m happy to say that I’ve crossed off a few items on my bucket list (go to New York, have a date in a drive in movie and master wearing heels) but a bucket list is something that you should be working on for the whole of your life. It’s a little obvious to say but I think people give up on trying new things.
- Go to a masquerade
-
Do they even have masquerade balls anymore? I have no clue. But, if people can attend a role play version of Harry Potter than I can figure out a place where I can find my fairytale dreams. The thing is there’s something alluring about going around in a beautiful dress with my identity safely secured underneath a mask. I think it’s something that I’ve always been interested in but never looked to actually do until recently.
- Take a road trip with friends
-
I blame my childhood tv shows. I think that almost every show that I watched as a kid had a road trip episode. But, in real life there’s something nice about taking a long trip with a group of close knit friends. I could care less about where we’re going but listening to music, talking and munching on room service is something that I wouldn’t pass up for the world.
- Catch a bouquet at a wedding
-
I don’t know where this obsession came from. But, I always wanted to catch a bouquet at a wedding. The thing is that I haven’t been to a wedding since I was a little kid and I don’t see myself going to a wedding any time soon. Maybe someday.
- Visit Shakespeare and company
-
I love book stores. Although I’ve never been to one that hasn’t been a Barnes and Nobles or another chain shop. But, this Parisian bookshop is something that honestly makes me giddy. Hopefully one day I’d be able to go.
- Live alone in my dream apartment
-
I lived alone last year and I loved it. The thing is that it was in a dorm and I didn’t have the luxury of cooking and had to share a bathroom with about fifty people. Ever since then I’ve been waiting for my chance to live alone again. I picture my dream apartment to be small but functional and uniquely me. Although it’s a long time away from this summer and winter break I’ll be saving up for a down payment on my own apartment after I graduate.
- See the Ball drop in time Square
-
If any of my friends are reading this, please make sure that you hit me up to see the ball drop if you want to. I know that the experience is going to be overrated and crowded. But, at least once in my life, I want to see the ball drop in person.
- Publish a book
-
Books are the hardest thing to create on earth.Period, I’ve been working on one since Freshman year and finally made a dent in my book. I know that I want to write a poetry book as well but, until then I’ll be drafting.
Hopefully, I’ll have these list a little shorter this time next year but until then I’ll be more than happy to cross off other items on my list until then.
