Saxbys is a popular cafe chain all throughout Colleges and Universities all across America. Their concept of “for students, by students” means it is an all student-led cafe. The popularity of experiential learning cafes results in many students getting real experience managing a cafe, directing marketing, being a team leader, or learning collaboration in a space different than a classroom. Saxbys is so successful at Rowan, so successful that they have TWO on campus! One at Roher College of Business, and one in the expansion of the Chamberlain Student Center. Saxbys recently dropped a new drink earlier this week, so do-nut miss out this review!
Saxby’s Boston Cream Latte comes in iced drinks only. The drink consists of chocolate, pudding milk, and espresso. The result is a drink that tastes like biting into a liquid boston cream donut. The pudding milk is a delicious blend of vanilla, pudding, and oatmilk! This drink is perfect for those not wanting dairy in their beverage, as well as those who could not have the Pumpkin Roll drink due to the almonds.
My biggest fear with the drink was that since a latte is mostly milk, the drink would be too sweet and too heavy. After trying it, the sweetness is not overwhelming at all, and the whole drink is just like a normal oatmilk latte. The espresso enhances the chocolate, and all of the notes of the drink were executed perfectly. I felt that with the Pumpkin Roll drink, the almonds made it hard for the pumpkin to shine through. In this case, this drink is perfect for everyone. If you like sweet drinks, it tastes like a donut. If you do not like incredibly sweet, adding an extra shot of espresso makes an already light drink not as sweet to digest!
This drink is perfect for everyone! Out of all of the drops Saxbys has done recently, this is my favorite There is a new drop coming soon this week, so I am very excited to see how it will compare to this masterpiece! Be on the lookout for the article reviewing this next drop, and be sure to compare the two!
