Hey Profs! Meet Jeremy Johnson, also known as ‘Jeremey from Facebook.’ He is an 18 year old freshman at Rowan who plans on being a veterinarian with high hopes for his future at Rowan.
What can you say about your first semester at college so far?
It’s a sweet and sour situation. The coursework is difficult and demanding in comparison to the work from high school, and it is difficult getting accustomed to a new environment and living on my own. On the other hand, I have formed so many new relationships and bonds that have made it so much easier. Also, I love biology, so being in classes that are focused around that are something to look forward to rather than dread.
What made you choose Rowan?
I instantly liked everything about it. Rowan is a good distance from home, so I got to have that experience without being out of state while getting to study at such a great school.
What is something most people probably don’t know about you?
I’m an undefeated black belt. I also breed lizards and am a photographer.
Favorite memory so far?
I went to an all-male school for high school, so coming here I saw girls in my classes for the first time, and I thought, “Oh my god girls, this is amazing…” but also, “oh my god girls, I’m not ready for this.” Seeing girls on a daily basis really was such a cultural shock to me.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
While I am going into this blind, I am looking forward to whatever the future holds. I do see myself attending veterinary school after graduation and pursuing my career goals.
