Dan’s favorite thing about Rowan is the sheer number of extracurriculars that can be connected to a major or just for fun. In fact, it’s “virtually impossible for you to not be able to find a way to pursue your passion.” For Dan, his passion for writing is satisfied in Rowan’s literary magazine, Avant.
In his free time, Dan enjoys a mix of reading and writing. He most recently finished The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. He also enjoys to going to concerts and trying new beers with his friends (all of age, guys!) When he feels like staying in, Dan will watch some of his favorite shows on Netflix.
For new freshmen, Dan suggests joining clubs and getting to know your professors. He thinks that clubs are a great way to meet people and have more fun than you would expect. As for the professors, Dan reasons that “if you can go by and just chat with your professors then they will think about you for things like opportunities for scholarships, conferences, etc. plus, classes become more enjoyable when your professor likes you.”
So whether you are a freshman or not, make sure you build relationships, not only with your peers, but also with your professors!
