Well, they seem to be dropping like flies in the President’s cabinet. Not even a month after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secretary Kristi Noem was fired, United States Attorney General Pam Bondi is now gone as well.

On April 2nd, President Trump posted to Truth Social announcing her departure, and said that she would be “transitioning to a job in the private sector.” There was not much other information provided by him about why exactly he fired her, but there are many speculations about his frustrations with her, especially over the Epstein Files.

He did also announce, Todd Blanche, is filling in for the interim.

Who is todd?

Todd Blanche is the Deputy Attorney General (DAG), which is the second ranking to U.S. Attorney General (AG) (kind of like President and then Vice President). The DAG oversees departments and fills into AG powers when necessary.

First and foremost, Blanche was DJT’s personal defense attorney, he was the primary defense in the New York hush money case when the President was found guilty of 34 counts of felony falsification of business records.

Blanche 51, originally from Denver Colorado. He studied law at Brooklyn Law School at night, and worked as a paralegal in the U.S. Attorneys office in Manhattan. He graduated in 2003, he later on to work later as a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York.

He left in 2017 he took a job at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, and worked as a partner in the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice. In 2023 he left the firm to join President Trump’s legal team in the New York hush money case, calling it an “opportunity I should not pass up.”

“You’re Fired”

Like I said earlier, there isn’t much direct information about why she was fired, even DAG Todd Blanche admits that “Nobody has any idea why the attorney general is no longer the attorney general and I’m the acting attorney general, except for President Trump.” Most reporting exclaims that Bondi did not go after Trump’s political opponents hard enough, especially having to do with retaliation based on the Epstein files. but how was it handled? Here is the breakdown:

One of Trump’s biggest campaign promises was releasing the Epstein files, he appointed Bondi as U.S. Attorney General (AG) and she was sworn in February 5th, 2025.

Bondi was later seen on Fox news bragging about her goal of transparency, that Epstein’s client list was sitting on her desk and claiming that they should have been released a long time ago.

November 19th 2025, the Epstein Files Transparency Act became law, and gave 30 days for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to Release “all unclassified records, documents, communications, and investigative materials in DOJ’s possession that relate to the investigation and prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein” This included things relating to Ghislaine Maxwell, travel information, and all individuals named or referenced in connection to the investigation. The DOJ was also permitted to withhold sensitive information, such as personal information of the victims.

The statutory deadline in December was missed, but a few days later the first phase of files came out, but it was mostly information that the public had already known, photos of Bill Clinton were released, and transcripts of interviews with victims.

I’m sure most people are aware of early January of 2026, when even more files get released but were heavily redacted, with even some pages being completely blacked out. The DOJ allowed for members of Congress to see the unredacted files, but upon viewing them members reported that pages were still completely redacted.

February 11, 2026 Bondi appears before the House Judiciary Committee for an oversight hearing about her handling of the Epstein files. There were Epstein survivors at this hearing, and another famous clip started circulating of Bondi not apologizing to the victims. The other famous clip is of her referencing “the dow” after being questioned further.

March 2026, just a few weeks ago the house congressionally subpoenaed Bondi to appear again before the Judiciary Committee on April 14th.

Now flash forward, it’s April 2nd and President Trump announces Pam Bondi will no longer be attorney general. They have alluded to her job in the Private sector, and that it will be announced soon, but nobody really knows what any of that means. There is some speculation that Trump has another job for her as a federal judge.

My thoughts

I’m sure everyone is dying to know what I am thinking, and there are many things I could say but to keep it short and sweet, I am skeptical.

As I explained above, Bondi is under a Congressional subpoena to testify next week about her handling of the Epstein files. Trump thought if he got rid of her, she wouldn’t have to go (but it is not the case and she still has to be there.) It goes back to the cover up of it all, the administration knows Donald Trump is named multiple times in the Epstein files, and when push came to shove and Bondi couldn’t lie for him anymore, she got the boot.

The cover up of the Epstein FIles is a pretty non-partisan issue (well at least it should be), Republicans and Democrats alike worked together to pass the Epstein Transparency Act. We even saw Marjorie Taylor Greene resign from her job and have a pretty public fallout with President Trump over his hiding of the Epstein Files.

In general, although the President appoints the AG, the DOJ is supposed to be separate from politics, much like the Supreme Court. Pam Bondi put a smear on the entire integrity of the DOJ with the Epstein cover up, and using lawsuits as retaliatory action against Trump’s political enemies. Then to also have your personal lawyer step up (which I know he was appointed and that’s his job) is just more and more untrustworthy.

Finally, let this be a reminder that people are not immune to Trump’s derangement. Even the ones in his inner circle who tried to stay as loyal to him as possible will get tossed to the side. Trump doesn’t care, and has proven that once you become useless to him, or oppose his agenda, you will get tossed to the side. If the pattern continues, Karoline Leavitt better get her LinkedIn page up and running.
