It’s no secret that being in college is already stressful with classes, but having to balance a social life and having/starting a career can be really overwhelming. As someone who is currently going through this, I know how hard it can be to devote your time and energy to everything. I may not have all the answers, but I do have some helpful tips and some advice on how to balance everything and hopefully make life a little easier!

For starters, I would suggest planning your week out on Sunday before the new week begins. Writing something down in your notes app, calendar, journal, etc can help lay out a strong foundation of things you know you have to do this week. This way, you can add and make time for the fun stuff like dinner and going out with friends, spending time with your boyfriend/girlfriend, or just planning on having some downtime to yourself. I use my notes app for a little to-do list of my day-to-day goals while using my calendar for all of my must-dos! It makes it easier to plan out my day, knowing what I have to do as well as knowing what I can get done.

I would also recommend not being so hard on yourself. At least for me, I find myself being upset when I can’t squeeze in all the time to see the people I care about, get the work I want done, or just don’t have enough energy to fill my day with things I want to do. It’s not impossible to get everything done, but the only way that it can be completed to its fullest potential is by a positive attitude and taking it one step at a time.

Just remember that everyone is at college to get an education, find a great group of people, and to get the career they’ve always wanted. You’re not alone in the struggle to balance everything, because everyone has a really busy plate as well! My biggest suggestion is learning how to stay organized and find the schedule that best works for you.
