Let’s get real here: gaslighting is the most prominent form of manipulation in any relationship. “You’re overreacting.” “I didn’t do that.” “You’re so dramatic.” “You must be confused again.” If these phrases sound all too familiar, it’s possible that you’re being gaslighted. Your gaslighter will twist your perception of reality for their own gain, and it’s way more common than you think.

But let me tell you a little secret… Cardi B, Beyonce, Khloe Kardashian, and more have been brutally gaslighted, too. There are so many powerful, well-known women who have had to deal with toxic relationships just like me and you. If you thought it was just your own partner who has figured out how to manipulate you, think again.

Let’s look at Cardi B and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Offset.Cardi B’s once-trusted hubby even made a sex tape with another woman- that’s one perfect example of gaslighting. Offset made Cardi believe that she was the only woman he wanted to be with, when in reality he was going behind her back and cheating.

Cardi’s performance at Rolling Loud was rudely interrupted by Offset’s “apology.” By making it a public announcement, he was able to manipulate the situation by pressuring her in front of thousands of people. Cardi stayed strong in that moment and even managed to continue her performance.

What motivates people to hurt the ones they supposedly “care for”? Learn how to recognize the characteristics a gaslighter before it’s too late. The moment you realize you feel manipulated, say something. Take my advice and don’t let it get to that point. Stand up to your gaslighter- you owe it to yourself. No one should have to withstand a relationship that does not benefit them equally. You are a queen, and you deserve to be treated like one. Look at Cardi, she finally made that decision too- OKURR?
