1. Give yourself ample time to make your flight:
Leave campus at least 3 hours early to ensure that you will make your flight. It is better to get to the airport early than to miss your flight.
2. Call your taxi the night before:
During the holiday season, taxi services are generally busier than usual. Avoid the hassle of trying to find a ride by ordering your taxi at least 24 hours in advance.
3. Wear sensible clothes:
When you are flying, make sure to leave the jewelry at home! It is also advised to not wear a belt or suspenders. Acceptable clothes would be a dress, sweats or leggings, and of course slip on shoes.
4. Pack lightly:
If at all possible, only take a carry-on bag with you. Taking extra baggage will ensure that you spend time checking in your bag and your odds of losing your belongings increase.
5. Print out your ticket ahead of time OR download your airline’s travel app:
Don’t rely on airport ticket machines to print out your boarding pass. It is best to either have your ticket prepared on your phone or have a hard copy on hand. It is most preferable to print out double copies of your paperwork.
