This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rochester chapter.

Meet our Student Spotlight of the Week: Michelle!

Name: Michelle Bruce

Hometown: Winston Salem, North Carolina

Year: Sophomore

Major/minor: Psychology and ASL double major

Clubs you’re involved in: Partners in Reading, Active Minds, and ASL Club

Favorite Movie: E.T. or Back to the Future II (I have countless others but these are off the top of my head)

What are you passionate about? I love kids!! I also love teaching! I want to do special education after I graduate.

Where would your next travel destination be? I really just  want to go to New York City and see a Broadway show.

Favorite TV show: Grey’s Anatomy!!

Favorite Spot in UR: I love the quiet study room with the cool chairs that make you feel like you’re all by yourself in a cave. It’s such a great place to study.

What would you say is your greatest achievement:  Going to school so far away from home has been tough (I miss my puppies) but I love it. I didn’t know if I’d be able to handle it but everything about U of R is so great. It’s become home to me.

If you could meet anyone in history, who would it be? I would want to meet Carl Jung, he seems like a pretty cool guy!

What advice would you give your 16 year old self? “It’s not the end of the world, things will get better.”

Personal Quote You Live By: “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” – Dr. Seuss
