Spring Break-two words that can make any college kid jump for joy. It is that week you and your friends have been planning and looking forward to for months and months has come and gone as quickly as a Rochester winter (yeah, you wish). Now that we are all back to our same old boring lives, let us rejoice and reminisce about that glimpse of freedom…

“A bunch of my friends and I went to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I had never gone on vacation with friends before so it was such an amazing experience. A lot of my friends I went with are graduating this year, and it was a great way to spend more time with them before they leave.”
Jessica Lewis, Class of 2013

“My favorite night of my spring break in Cancun was by far the foam party at Basic.”
Andrew Swartz, Class of 2011

“I went to Hilton Head South Carolina with my lacrosse team for spring training. You can’t beat a spring break of goggle tan lines and girl talk!”
Charlie Clements, Class of 2011

“I had the chance to grace Europe with my presence and visit my friends studying abroad in Florence, Venice, and London with my infamous transatlantic travel partner.”
Trevor Baisden, Class of 2012

“I went back home to Philly and spent 90% of my break in bed. I slept on average 12 hours each night and day and watched 1 season of a TV show and several movies. It was great to see my friends and family and even more convenient that I did not have to leave the comfort of my pajamas to do so. Overall I had a very, nice relaxing break and should definitely be well rested enough to take on the rest of the semester!”
Jenna Hart, Class of 2014

“It was great to get away from freezing Rochester for a little while and go to warm and sunny Hawaii with my family! We got to horseback ride, kayak, hike, and lay on the beach.”
Katie Higgins, Class of 2011

“My favorite part of my spring break trip to Jamaica was a spontaneous trip that a group of us took one night to a local jerk chicken restaurant. Let’s just say that I had so much fun that I am now Facebook friends with the waitresses!”
Samee Gharagozloo, Class of 2011

“My break was pretty tame.  I went skiing with my family; 40 inches of snow over our first 3 days there, spent the rest of the time sampling local beers with my dad.”
Alex Magill, Class of 2012

So, there you have it, people.  Whether you spent your spring break partying, soaking up some rays, or catching up on some sleep, it seems as though our general consensus is that spring break 2011 was awesome.  Now that it is behind us, all we can do is look forward to the final stretch of spring semester, and pray for some sun in Rochester!
