Despite what Rochester’s weather would have you believe, spring is right around the corner. Though the current climate may not be in tune with the season, that doesn’t mean your makeup can’t! Here are some fun ideas for you to freshen up your look with this spring:

Eyes

First, dust your lids with a peach or golden toned shadow. Make sure to create a gradient in the pigment as you blend to the outer part of your eyelid an above the crease. Finish it off by using a soft brown to line your eyes, smudging it out a bit to create a softer look.

Lips

For the lips, go with a tinted lip balm, lip gloss or lip tint in a soft pink/peach tone. This will give your lips a nice hint of color without being too overbearing or dramatic (save the drama for the fall/winter seasons). If you opt for a lipstick I advise one with a glossier finish or a nude color (if you’re using one with a matte finish).

Face

Gently sweep a rose-gold blush over the apples of your cheeks. Then dab a bit of highighter on the areas of your face where the light naturally hits – the cheekbones, brow bones, and nose. This will give your face more dimension and give you an ethereal glow.

Things to Remember:

  1. Wash your face prior to application.
  2. To create a lasting effect, apply a makeup primer before the rest of your makeup routine and a setting spray (optional) after.
  3. Always, always, always wear sunscreen.
  4. At the end of the day remember to remove your makeup and wash your face
