1. How did Alpha Kappa Psi get started on campus?
Alpha Kappa Psi has an interesting history on campus.  Normally to start a chapter of this co-ed business fraternity, an expansion coordinator has to come to the school and gain interest in the fraternity.  For the U of R, we did it a little backwards.  Ellie Grabski approached a group of 8 people with the idea to bring a chapter to campus since there wasn’t any entity like this already established.  From there, the original 8 started to gain interest on campus, held an interest meeting, and started the process of getting recognized on campus.

2. What are your goals while president?
My goals while President are rather simple.  I want to make sure that AKPsi has a lasting presence on the University of Rochester campus.  This can only happen if AKPsi has a strong foundation of organization, dedication by the brotherhood, and a clear focus of professional endeavors.

3. How can people get involved/how does one become a member?
People can get involved by coming to AKPsi rush events at the beginning of each semester to meet the brotherhood and learn more about AKPsi on the University of Rochester campus.

4. What type of opportunities does Alpha Kappa Psi offer?
AKPsi offers a multitude of opportunities to its brothers.  AKPsi is differentiated from a social fraternity because it does have the aspects of brotherhood as well as the aspects of professional development.  AKPsi offers a brotherhood that is encouraging and encompassing of all brothers.  AKPsi also offers great professional development skills.  We work on the working resume, networking, interviewing, professional speakers series, philanthropy and so much more!

5. Any information you think would be useful for the article
One thing that is very important to highlight about AKPsi is that we are open to all majors.  Even though we are a professional business fraternity, we love having brothers with different majors.  Each brother brings a new perspective that can only make AKPsi even better.
