1. What year did you start getting involved with Class Council?
I got involved my freshman year in 2009.
Â
2. Why did you decide to run?
In high school, I was on student government for four years, and had served as the president my senior year. The best part was planning activities and building a stronger sense of school spirit, which is exactly what class councils do at Rochester. I love being actively involved and meeting new people everyday, and wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.

3. What do you hope to get accomplished this year?
Every year we face a unique challenge- whether that be increasing attendance at events or stretching our budget. This year, we are working on building a greater sense of class spirit through all of our “Get X with 2013” events. We kicked it off last semester with “Get Clean with 2013” and this year we just finished “Get Lean with 2013”. We have a few more exciting events coming up, including the Haunted Hayride in October and a surprise for everyone next semester that will really put Rochester on the map.

4. What is your main role as president?
Being president is a lot of fun- because I get to wear a hundred different hats. I get to ensure our budget is balanced, coordinate programs, and also run meetings. It also means I get stuck with all the responsibility.
My favorite experience as being president was on the Niagara Falls trip last year when the bus drivers accidentally crossed the Canadian border and the United States border patrol asked who was in charge of the 3 buses- the blame went to me.

 5. What else are you involved with on campus?
I also sit on the Students’ Association Senate as a class senator this year and am involved with Alpha Kappa Psi (the co-ed business fraternity)
