Fall is the season of sweaters, pumpkin, cinnamon, beautiful red leaves, and that wonderful fall smell, but it is also the season to snuggle up with your bae. While autumn is admittedly short in Rochester, it is still amazingly beautiful and can be a perfect place for some cute, easy dates. Here are some ideas to make your time on campus with your boo wonderfully romantic!
1. For those rare sunny days, take a blanket and your S.O. and pack a little picnic and head out to the Residential or Academic quad to soak up some sun and a little down-low cuddling. This is perfectly free and a great way to put away the social media (after you share and like this article, of course!) and spend some quality one-on-one time with your favorite person. Even a few minutes in between class of face-to-face time will totally brighten your day!
2. Forget Netflix and chill, try study and commitment! Some people like studying alone, but if you’re like me, you like having other people around to keep you company. Finding an ideal study spot on campus is a necessity, because, let’s be real, those dorm desks are too small. What better way than to do so with your bae? Finding a study spot for just you two will make doing homework and studying for exams much more manageable. Plus, then you always have someone to go get your Tapingo order. YES.
3. One really cool thing on campus is that student bands and artists play at Blimpies and Starbucks (there are usually Facebook groups or check out the Rochester UR Concerts Page). These are great little events to go to, not only to have a good time on date night, but also to support your friends and the Rochester music community. Live music is always romantic and you can discover your shared interests.
4. What better date is there on a chilly fall night then to get in your yoga pants, curl up next to bae, and watch a movie? Well, if this is your thing, then you’re in luck because UR Cinema Group shows ovies  in Hoyt every weekend. The best part is that they are required to show movies from every genre so you can make them sit through your favorite rom com and then watch their fav action flick the next week.

5. Cooking with your S.O. is a classic romantic activity but is slightly more complicated on campus. Dorm kitchens are not ideal and there are some buildings who don’t even have them!!! However, there are definitely ways of getting around this and finding cute ways of making a generally boring task much more fun! Try this recipe for APPLE PIE IN A MUG! So simple and a fun way to enjoy a favorite fall treat with your loved one!
6. Finally, there is no better way of spending some time with your boo then to just explore campus! The Rochester Campus has some really cool buildings and actually has a lot of cool history. Try checking out the Spurrier tunnel or go and see the view from the top of Gleason (the engineering one). Explore Rush Rhees, Rettner, LeChase, and all the dorm buildings (the roof of Sue B. is also amazing)! Head to College Town or stop for lunch at the medical center cafeteria! There is so much to see here, why not explore the place you love with the person you love?! Plus, you’re gonna want to find the warmest route to class in a few months.
Good luck and have a wonderful fall with your bae!
