Tis’ The Season For Spring Break!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rider chapter.
March in its bipolar glory of 30 degree mornings, 60 degree afternoons, wind gusts and rain. This means one thing, Spring Break is just around the corner. Before images from the latest MTV special come to mind, remember that for those of us who simply cannot afford a trip to Florida or somewhere warm have plenty of options for spring break.

Catch up with friends

Our spring break is the same as Rutgers, Fordham and other universities throughout the country. Take advantage of this free time to catch up with those friends you have not had time to spend any time with since winter break.

Local hot spots…
Sure a trip somewhere tropical would be nice this time of year, but why not check out local places in the off-season. Many of these places can be less expensive to visit this time of year too, so take advantage of it.

Get a Job (or internship)

Unless summer courses are in your future, a job is not a bad way to spend the summer. It is a way to gain new skills, make a few bucks, meet new people and potentially make your future post-graduation a little brighter. Ditto an internship. If you are going to be home all summer look locally.

Getting back on track
Mid-semester things get hectic. Spring break can be a nice break for those who need to play catch-up academically or on sleep. For those who just want a chance to relax, Spring Break is also a chance to do that.
