Rampant Obsession: Oh, Jeans!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rider chapter.

First I want to say welcome back ladies! I know the break went too fast.  I want to talk about a staple for every closest: jeans. Oh, how I love them.  Why, you may ask. You can get away with wearing them at most occasions.  I especially love the “classic jean.” The same pair can be worn with a cute t-shirt and you’ll look causal and cool, or worn with a dressy blouse and you’ll look put-together and refined. While being trendy is nice, it’s also expensive. So, why not save yourself some money and go with something that’s forever stylish?

The easiest way is to buy simple:

1.     A dark wash (because it’s slimming)

2.     Plain/simple pocket

3.     The leg can be from a loose fitting skinny to a boot cut.
Be sure to keep away from trends:

1.     No embellishments

2.     Fading

3.     Tears

4.     Rousing

5.     Or anything currently “in”

All the things that look great when you first buy them are the same things that make the jeans look dated.
You can always save money and buy jeans from a store like Forever 21. Or you can spend a little bit of a lot, which is probably more than most want to spend, and get something that will last longer.  You get what you pay for. Me personally, I like Levi’s. They are bomb diggy fresh.  They come in all kinds of cuts, washes, and sizes. They also have this cool thing called “Curve ID”, and in it they have slight, demi, bold, and supreme curve jeans. No matter how much curve you have, or how little, they got you covered. Remember ladies, sometimes less is more.

What are your favorite jeans right now?
