Heartbreaker or Prince Charming? Edward Pagan

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rider chapter.
Edward Pagan has been making the ladies all over campus swoon over his sexy dance moves during halftime at the basketball games. But we wanted more! Here he tells us his idea of the perfect date and why he wants a girl to approach him.

If you had to rank yourself from 1 to 10, what would you rank yourself?
I would give myself a 7 or 8. Never will I say that I am a perfect 10 because no one perfect and I am no exception.  I give myself that range because I do think that I am a fairly good looking person. Also I believe personality should play a big part in giving yourself a rank and I do think that I am a very nice and approachable person.

We know you love to play sports. Is this how you like to stay fit?
Playing sports is half of how I stay fit.  The other half is working out in the gym and eating right. Not just eating junk food all the time. I try to make it to the gym at least 5 times a week. Yes fitness is important to me. Not being fit or trying not to be fit shows that you really do not care about how you look or your health.

You must get complimented a lot. What does it do for your confidence?
I get complimented on my body a lot. I used to like it but after a while it gets old. But it does help as a reminder that the gym and sports are keeping me fit and looking nice.

Would you consider yourself to be romantic?
I don’t consider myself to be romantic in the way of doing stuff for a girl. But I do consider myself romantic when it comes to talking to someone I like. I usually give sincere compliments and tell them they are beautiful not sexy! Beautiful is more of a respectful way of complimenting a girl and sexy just sends the wrong messages.

How do you let a girl know you like her?
I let a girl know I like her by going out of my way to be with them and making time for them.  I won’t come out and say it but I will give signs. It makes it easy for me when a girl gives signs to me also.  Then I know if I’m wasting my time of if she is also into me.

Did anyone ever help you figure out how to ask out a girl?
I have never asked for advice but I have given it. All I told him was to be himself and be sure to show your funny side because girls really enjoy a nice guy who can make them laugh.

Did you ever have a girl ask you out?
I have never had a girl ask me out.  I actually would like for a girl to approach me sometimes.  It’s a sign of confidence and really shows they have a strong interest in me. But i would prefer if she did it in person because anyone can text someone or call them but being in person is more effective.

Your first crush, what drew you to her?
My first crush was in the 7th grade. What drew me to her was her dancing ability. She used to dance at shows that my school would hold and she was very good and stood out to me. She also happened to be very beautiful and have an amazing personality. Personality is an important trait to me. Yes I did end up dating her. It was toward the end of the 7th grade.

Worst dating experience?
I haven’t been on many dates so I can’t really tell what a bad date may be.  But I think the worst date may be going out with someone who only cares about what they have to say are not really interested in what you have to say.  To me it really doesn’t matter what we do or where we go, as long as we have a great time with one another.  I’m content with just walking through a park if that’s what she wants to do.  If she tells me she had fun at the end of the night then it was successful.
