Top 6 Restaurants for Parent’s Weekend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rhodes chapter.

Parents weekend is only a few days away, and if you are not from Memphis, your family will want to experience the best the city has to offer. Everyone should go to Graceland at least once, but my favorite way to experience a new city is through the food! Here are six restaurants, split up by price, that will give your family a taste of the awesome city you go to school in!

$$$ ($25 and up per entre)

Fight Restaurant and Wine Bar

Cuisine: American, international, wine bar
Signature Item: Flights! Instead of only getting to try one thing on the menu, you can order a smaller portion of any three entre items for the price of one full-sized entre. The menu has featured flights, but you can also create your own. The flight system also goes for appetizers, desert, wine, and liquor!
Location: Downtown (39 South Main Street)

Texas de Brazil
Cuisine: Brazilian steak house
Signature Item: The continuous parade of meat. This is a typical churrascaria, where in place of a menu, carvers walk through the dining area with freshly cooked Angus beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and Brazilian sausage ready to be put on your plate and immediately devoured.
Location: Downtown (150 Peabody Pl)

After entertaining Memphians for 30+ years, it was converted into a restaurant that aims to “reclaim the cinematic glory of the dawn of the silver screen.”
