Cuffing Season – During the Fall and Winter months people who would normally rather be single or promiscuous find themselves, along with the rest of the world, desiring to be “Cuffed” or “Tied Down” by a serious relationship. The cold weather and prolonged indoor activity causes singles to become lonely and desperate to be cuffed.

Let’s get real ya’ll, cuffing season is unicorns and rainbows until it ends, and your relationship follows.

An abundance of people share the same story; begin the relationship around October, fall in love, and watch it crash and burn in spring or summer.

The Beginning

1. “Potential” by Summer Walker

“Cause you got potential……”

It’s incredibly unhealthy to build an entire relationship based on an idealized version of a person. However, if we’re being honest, most relationships begin with a ton of expectations, even if they’re left unsaid. The nature of said expectations varies from person to person, but a good amount of women are looking for their potential “one” at any given time.

2. “Cool People” by Chloe x Halle

“When you hold my hand it just reminds me of, there’s still cool people in the world “

This song perfectly describes the moment when you begin to connect with someone, even if it’s on a relatively platonic level. It represents the situation transforming from fantasy into something more concrete.

3.  “Hope” by Blood Orange

“I already told you I don’t wanna be friends/What’s it gonna take for you to believe me? “

Pretty self-explanatory. Feeling hard, feeling deeply, wanting more.

4. “Heart Don’t Stand A Chance” by Anderson.Paak

“Your heart don’t stand a chance/Your knees just want to break/Your eyes keep me all in a trance”

Falling.

5. “Don’t Judge Me” by Janelle Monae

“But don’t judge me I know I got issues/But they drown when I kiss you “

When you begin to open up, and get to know each other on a more intimate level. Making yourself vulnerable.

What comes next?

maybe later.
