Meet Meatball!
Name: Meatball Elizabeth Maloney
Age: 2 ½ years young
Type: African Pygmy Hedgehog
Owner: Miriam Maloney
Favorite Activities? Running on her wheel, sleeping in her little sleeping bag, curling into a prickly ball & hissing at people.
Favorite food? Kitten food, because hedgehog food is super expensive, and kitten food has the same nutrient breakdown.
Shower or bath? I think bath… although Meatball would definitely prefer neither of the two—the pictures of cute hedgehogs floating in bubble baths that you see on the internet are a lie!
How did she get her name? She looked like a weird lil’ meatball, and I’m a vegetarian so its kind of funny, but I added Elizabeth because my mom said that Meatball wasn’t feminine enough.
What’s the cutest thing she does? Hedgehogs use smell as their primary sense, and Meatball’s lil’ nose wiggles adorably when she’s sniffing things.
How does she relax? Running on her wheel, she loves sleeping. Oh– and she pees on her enemies.
If she was an Office character, who would she be? Definitely Kelly Kapoor, because she’s a total drama queen.
Cool facts? Apparently hedgehogs are immune to snake venom, which seems pretty useless because why would a snake bite a hedgeho?? That would hurt.
