10 Thoughts We All Have on Rhodes Exchange

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rhodes chapter.

It’s a new form of procrastination—but let’s be honest, who is complaining? I’ve turned off my notifications… for like a day. I can’t help feeling like every new post is going to be JUST what I’ve been looking for. Minus the hassle of wandering around campus with a bag full of clothes to sell, or being that person who wants to try on everything even though it probably won’t fit, we’re all equally involved. Here are ten thoughts I know we all have while surfing Rhodes Exchage:

1. Ooooh new post… oh my gosh that’s so cute, it’s an XS, I could maybe fit in that right? (*then the realization that it definitely won’t cover your butt, or anything else for that matter*).

2. LULU LEMON?! *notices 50+ “interested” comments…. comments “interested” anyway in hopes that a brand new pair of expensive shorts going for ¼ of the price won’t work out for everyone else*

3. That 2 am procrastination where you end up on posts from 3 months ago and comment to ask if the item is still available even though it’s probably not your size/more money than you want to spend/probably sold 3 months ago.

4. When you’re on your phone and a notification for a new post pops up and its for a shirt you LOVE and you realize your stupid notification is super late and someone has already snagged said item.

5. The occasional posts that make you envious of how in the hell someone has so much clothing in the first place.

6. Annoyance of trying to sell stuff that you want to get rid of but probably no one else wants to buy – but hello, you need money to buy other people’s stuff!!

7. A car? Seriously? Wait, is that girl trying to sell production videos? Do you even go here?

8. Paitently waiting for someone to post specific type of item… item posted while asleep or not on phone for some ungodly reason, or just no notification on phone, THANKS APPLE.

9. Those days where it’s prime time and posts are popping up constantly and you’re refreshing and watching but there’s nothing that fits you/suits you. Whatever. Typical.

10. Hmm I’m pretty sure I have $20 in venmo… dress, or food? …I guess I can survive the rat for a few days…

Shoutout to those who started and have maintained Rhodes Exchange cause I don’t know about y’all, but I’m ballin on a budget. I like my Luly Lemon lightly worn and half the price– no judgment here.

xoxo, Virginia

P.S. Good luck on finals, everyone!!

Hi! I'm Nathalie Vacheron, a senior at Rhodes hailing from Germantown, Tennessee. I love to write, I love to edit, and I'm in love with the voice Her Campus gives to women across college campuses. In addition to Her Campus, I'm involved in my sorority, Tri Delta, work in the Counseling/Health Center, am a First Year mentor, and love to run when I can. I'm a Business & Commerce major concentrating in management with a minor in Psychology. I hope to go into health administration, community health, or work for a non-profit (and write a book somewhere in-between...) xoxo
