Special Delivery: The Pijon Box

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ramapo chapter.

Hey girls (and guys)! Here’s some good news for you– there’s a new monthly box subscription out there for those in college. It’s called Pijon Box!

The subscription varies from $25 to $29 a month and is filled with different products inside with retail values between $30 to $50. Basically, it’s like getting things cheaper than in real life. The boxes are curated monthly and have themes, so don’t think you’ll be getting the same things every month. Sometimes, boxes include healthy foods and snacks. There are always different experiences month-to-month, so with different supplies, you’ll always get a different experience.

For example, during these cold winter months, boxes were filled with granola bars, socks, vitamins—just fun things to get you through the end of the semester. The February box had more of a “rise and shine” theme, to get you ready for the semester again. It included a Brush with Bamboo toothbrush, an Oatworks oatmeal beverage, Reviver clothing refresher wipes, Go! Towel Mini, two Color Club nail polishes, Rooted Beauty Lip Butter, and a popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick.

I was able to speak with Adam, co-founder of Pijon Box. He said that though the box is not tailered specifically to college students, the company wanted to focus on those in school because students are not typically working a ton with full courseloads, so Pijon can step in to help.

Since its startup in September 2013, Pijon has seen rapid growth in subscribers and currently delights thousands of students each month in all 50 states.

Pijon works in two ways: you can subscribe yourself, or you can ask your family. Let’s say from your parents, maybe? Think of it as a care package from them. What better way than to get a new box delivered to you every month with new goodies inside!

Pijon is different from other popular monthly box subscriptions because the contents are not just beauty supplies. Pijon sends supplies that students need, not just samples. Boxes include full-sized food and personal care products for female, male or gender-neutral. Pijon, ultimately at its core, wants families to stay connected. While it is important to maintan its business, Pijon serves customers to stay connected with the people it loves.

Other than bringing smiles to students monthly, Pijon has built social responsibility by partnering with Project Night Night, a non-profit organization that provides over 25,000 care packages each year to homeless children. A portion of Pijon’s profits go directly to funding and preparing Night Night packages.

Hey Guys!! My name is Elina and I'm the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Ramapo Chapter here at Her Campus :)Right now, I'm a senior studying journalism at Ramapo College. My dream is to work in the field of entertainment news-- either through broadcasting or magazine journalism. Right now, I'm interning at Elvis Duran and the Morning Show and I am obsessed!!! I can only hope to continue on this road, and until then I'll be doing whatever I can to make that possible. Though I'm only a half-hour from school, I live on campus and wouldn't have it any other way. If I need some fam-time I'm close enough of a drive where it's not a hassle, and far enough where I have my space. I live with pledge sisters-- I'm a member of Sigma Delta Tau here at Ramapo. These girls are my LIFE!I hope you have as much fun reading our Her Campus chapter as we've had making it possible each week. HAPPY READING!!
