Things To Do and Places To See Before Leaving QU

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Quinnipiac chapter.

So as summer is at our fingertips, there are things that should be done before we really pack our bags and head home to enjoy a summer much needed. As much as it saddens me to think of leaving my friends and the complete freedom I have here, I know there are some things I have yet to check off my list of things to do before heading home.

Get breakfast at the Giant View Café
After some May Weekend festivities, I had my first taste of the Giant View Café. The Giant View is literally two minutes away from campus and is a tasteful place on Whitney Ave. Their menu has Daily Specials which are all very original and delicious. There are omelets, salads, panini’s and other goods that can satisfy your appetite. Definitely hit this place up before or after your finals!

Eat at one of the best pizzeria’s in the area
I have to admit that although I am a sophomore I have yet to try eating at Pepe’s Pizza and Modern Pizza in New Haven. Pepe’s been around for over 85 years and is one of the popular pizzerias in the East Coast.  Modern is a newer pizzeria that is a little more high-end. Both are extremely delicious and should be visited before the year is over especially during finals week!

Lay Out on the quad
While studying for finals, take the time to go lay out on the quad. With the warm weather approaching, it is a must to just throw a blanket, grab your notes and studyfor finals with friends. This is definitely one of my favorite things at QU. How can you help but not love the scenery and view of everyone relaxing on the quad? The view of Sleeping Giant is also stunning.

So make the most out of the little time you have left at QU! This time of the year is the best time to eat out and relax on the quad with friends before you leave them for the summer!
