Spike Lee will be coming to Quinnipiac o
n Thursday, February 10 to give the Annual Black History Month lecture. Within the past decade Lee has become known for the movies that he’s directed specifically dealing with issues facing African Americans. His influential films such as “Malcom X,” “Clockers,” and “Do the Right Thing,” have earned him numerous awards throughout the year. Lee has produced and directed numerous music videos for artists like Miles Davis, Chaka Khan, Tracy Chapman, Anita Baker, and Michael Jackson.
“My greatest hope is that the QU community will appreciate the quality of work Lee offers through his films, documentaries, and other forms of expression,” said Justene Adolphus-Garret, Education Chair of the Black Student Union. The group is excited for Lee to come to Quinnipiac as the Black History Months speaker. Adolphus-Garret said the group would like for “students who are unaware of Spike Lee’s work to leave with new knowledge.”
This event takes place from 7 p.m. to 10p.m. in Burt Kahn Court.
